Shayne began his racing career at the age of 19 racing on dirt tracks in Pennsylvania. For his first year in any type of racecar, he
decided he wanted to pursue a Dirt Modified debut. He was racing against veterans and the drivers he looked up to when he was
younger, in one of the toughest dirt track divisions of the Northeast. With over 10 years of on hand experience working around these
cars, he understood them inside and out and how they worked. With not to many drivers starting their career out in a car with 600+
horse power, he was taking a huge leap up the latter to the top.
During the 2006 season everyone came to notice Shayne's "Natural Talent" with his drastic improvements from race to race learning
how to pilot the car around the 3/8 mile clay oval. Shayne made his share of rookie mistakes but from those mistakes he learned.
Every weekend the crowd looked forward to seeing Shayne race side by side with some of the best drivers in the area.
Shayne set his sights on Asphalt racing, teaming up with a NASCAR Craftsman Truck team in 2007. Lafferty Motorsports offered
Shayne a spot in their Driver Development Program, after a scheduled test earlier that year at historical Hickory Motor Speedway. They
were impressed with Shayne's ability to convert from racing on dirt to adapting to racing on asphalt for the first time. Shayne is still
currently with Lafferty Motorsports and are searching for marketing partners to help with his efforts to making it to NASCAR.
